ZNYX Becomes First-Ever CompactPCI LAN Vendor to Receive Microsoft's WHQL "Designed for
Windows NT" Logo
FREMONT, CALIFORNIA, USA (September 22, 1998) - ZNYX Corporation today announced
that the Microsoft® Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) has granted the "Designed
for Windows NT®" logo to ZNYX's NetBlaster CompactPCI® Fast Ethernet
adapters. ZNYX's NetBlaster adapters are the first CompactPCI LAN adapters to
carry the "Designed for Windows NT" logo.
These NetBlaster adapters, which were designed to increase network bandwidth
and redundancy in high-performance CompactPCI embedded systems, will be listed
in Microsoft's Hardware Compatibility List (HCL). ZNYX's driver will also be included
with future Microsoft software offerings.
"We are pleased that ZNYX has moved quickly to develop and logo CompactPCI
products, which is an important first step in the development of carrier class
telephony platforms based on Windows NT Server," said Bill Anderson, Director
of Marketing, Microsoft's Internet Customer Unit. "The 'Designed for Windows
NT' logo on a CompactPCI product is a natural prerequisite for ensuring that these
platforms meet customer expectations of high reliability and availability."
NetBlaster CompactPCI adapters support 3U and 6U slots in two or four-channel
configurations. These Fast Ethernet adapters are CompactPCI version 2.1 compatible;
operate in both full and half-duplex modes; offer auto-negotiation of channel
speeds; and include link/activity LEDs. Additionally, the NetBlaster adapters
provide network managers with advanced networking features such as redundant links
with automatic fail-over, link aggregation and load balancing using ZNYX's Windows
NT-based RAINlink software. ZNYX plans future CompactPCI products to be
Microsoft Windows NT compatible.
CompactPCI applications that demand reliability and high performance--such
as telecommunications--benefit from the NetBlaster's independent multiple Fast
Ethernet channel capabilities. Factory floor, data acquisition, and medical imaging
environments represent additional application areas.
"ZNYX's commitment to providing network managers in the industrial and
telephony markets with quality and reliable networking products is demonstrated
by being the first LAN vendor to receive Microsoft's WHQL certification for a
CompactPCI product," said Alan Deikman, CTO of ZNYX. "It is important
to ZNYX that we offer our customers the quality assurance and support that the
WHQL certification carries."
